What is dye-sublimation printing, and when is it used vs. UV printing?
Dye-sublimation printing uses heat and pressure to convert solid dye directly into a gas that permeates a polyester or specially coated surface. Because the color becomes part of the material, sublimated prints are smooth, vivid, and fade-resistant with no ink layer to feel.
When is sublimation used?
It shines on fabrics (lanyards, apparel) and polymer-coated substrates where you want continuous, edge-to-edge color that won't crack or peel.
