Professional Name Badges for Business & Corporate Teams
We've been making professional name badges since 2004 with a team of 65+ people right here in the U.S. Law firms, real estate offices, banks, hospitals, and Fortune 500 companies keep coming back because the badges actually look as good as the brand they represent.
What Makes a Name Badge Truly Professional?
Honestly, if you're spending $300 on a suit, don't cheap out on a $2 stick-on name tag. A professional name badge is a precision-crafted piece of identification that tells people you care about the details. The gap between a cheap badge and a good one comes down to what it's made of and how long the print lasts.
Premium Materials
We use brushed metal, high-density plastic, and genuine wood -- not the thin, flimsy stuff that bends in your pocket. You can feel the difference the second you pick one up. There's a weight and rigidity to it that people notice, even if they can't put their finger on why it looks better.
Scratch-Proof Printing
Our sublimation process infuses ink directly into the badge material. It's not sitting on top of the surface waiting to peel off. We've had customers send us photos of badges they've worn daily for four or five years, and the text is still crisp. Surface-printed badges start looking rough within weeks.
Executive Finish
Rounded corners, beveled edges, satin or gloss coatings -- these small details are what separate a $7 badge from one that looks like it belongs on a partner at a law firm. We spend a lot of time on finishing because that's what people actually see up close.
Premium Badge Materials: Metal vs. Plastic vs. Wood
This is the biggest decision you'll make when ordering. The right material depends on your industry and the image you're going for. Here's how each one stacks up.
Brushed Metal Badges
Brushed metal is what most of our professional clients pick, and it's easy to see why. Available in silver, gold, and rose gold, metal name badges just look expensive. A law firm in Atlanta switched from stick-on tags to engraved metal -- their managing partner told us it was the best $200 they spent all year. We also make them for financial advisory practices, luxury retail, and executive teams. You can get them sublimation-printed with full-color logos or laser-engraved for a permanent etched finish. Starting at $12.99 per badge.
High-Density Plastic Badges
Don't let the word "plastic" fool you -- these aren't the cheap ones from the office supply store. Professional-grade plastic is lightweight but tough, and sublimation printing gives you full-color logos and gradients that won't scratch off. They're our best seller for medical offices, corporate teams, and hotel staff because you get vibrant, branded badges at a price point that doesn't hurt when you're ordering for a whole department. Starting at $7.49 per badge.
Natural Wood Badges
These are the ones that get compliments. We laser-engrave text on natural maple or bamboo, and the result has a tactile, organic quality that you can't replicate with any other material. We sell a lot of these to craft breweries, boutique retailers, farm-to-table restaurants, and wellness brands. If your brand leans earthy or artisanal, wood says that without a word.

Professional Name Badges by Industry
We've made badges for just about every type of business you can think of. Here's what actually works best in each industry, based on what our repeat customers keep ordering.
Real Estate Agents & Brokerages
We make badges for Keller Williams offices across 12 states, and they're far from our only brokerage client. Realtors wear their badges everywhere -- open houses, closings, networking events, grabbing coffee at Starbucks. A brushed metal badge with the brokerage logo tells a potential client you're the real deal before you even hand over a business card. Magnetic backing is a must here because nobody wants pin holes in a blazer.
Popular choice: Brushed gold or silver metal with magnetic back
Financial Advisors & Banks
You're asking people to trust you with their money. A polished name badge with your credentials (CFP, CFA, CPA) does more heavy lifting than you'd think -- it communicates competence before you've even said hello. Engraved metal is the clear favorite here because it projects permanence. Nobody wants their financial advisor wearing something that looks temporary.
Popular choice: Engraved silver metal with title line
Law Firms & Legal Offices
Attorneys don't want flashy -- they want clean and authoritative. We do a lot of brushed silver badges with the firm name and attorney title in classic typography. Partners wear them to client meetings, associates wear them to court, and paralegals wear them at the front desk. It's one of those small things that makes a firm feel put together.
Popular choice: Brushed silver metal with classic serif font
Medical Offices & Healthcare
Patients are already nervous. Being able to quickly read a staff member's name and role genuinely helps. We make badges with clear name display, role designation, and the practice logo so patients know exactly who's taking care of them. Magnetic name tags are the standard in healthcare because pins and scrubs don't mix -- nobody wants to poke holes in clothing they wear every shift.
Popular choice: Full-color plastic with dual-magnet backing
Hotels & Luxury Hospitality
A guest's experience starts the moment they walk up to the front desk. A polished badge makes staff approachable and easy to identify by name -- that's the foundation of personal service. Our hotel clients typically go with metal badges in gold or black finishes that match the staff uniforms. It's a small investment that reinforces the brand every single guest interaction.
Popular choice: Gold metal with hotel crest and magnetic back
Corporate Offices & Tech Companies
Consistent badges across an entire office do something subtle but powerful for company culture. Everyone looks like they're on the same team. They matter most during client visits, board meetings, and conferences. We make badges with the company logo, department, and employee name -- and we store the design so adding a new hire takes about 30 seconds to reorder.
Popular choice: Custom-color plastic with full branding
Brand Consistency Through Professional Badges
Here's something most people don't think about: your name badge is worn at eye level during every handshake. It's one of the first things people read about your company. When the badge has your exact logo, your brand colors, and clean typography, it does real work for your image without anyone having to say a thing.
Handwritten name tags and faded stickers actively hurt your credibility. We've had clients tell us that switching to uniform, polished badges changed how visitors perceived their office. One property management company in Dallas said new tenants started commenting on how "professional the whole operation looks." That wasn't a coincidence.
Our design team can color-match your badges to your exact Pantone or hex values. Upload a vector logo and we'll reproduce it perfectly, or send us whatever image file you have and we'll clean it up for badge printing at no extra charge. We also store every design on file, so when you hire someone new six months from now, their badge will match the rest of the team exactly.

Design Tips for a Polished, Executive Look
We've designed tens of thousands of badges over the years. These are the things that actually make the biggest difference.
Choose Readable Fonts
Stick with clean typefaces. Sans-serif fonts like Helvetica, Calibri, or Gotham work great for modern brands. If you're a law firm or financial practice going for a more traditional feel, serif fonts like Garamond or Times do the job. Please don't use script fonts -- they look nice on a wedding invitation, but they're unreadable on a badge from three feet away.
Prioritize Name Size
The employee's name should be the biggest thing on the badge -- readable from 3-4 feet away. Company name and title can be smaller. The whole point of a name badge is so someone can read it without awkwardly leaning in.
Use White Space Deliberately
This is the number one mistake we see: people try to cram everything onto the badge. Don't. Generous margins and spacing between lines make a badge look expensive. A cluttered badge looks cheap, even if it's made from great materials.
Limit Your Color Palette
Two colors, maybe three. That's it. Your brand's primary color plus black or white text is usually all you need. Match your badge palette to your business cards and office signage, and everything looks intentional.
Select the Right Shape
Standard rectangles (3" x 1" or 3" x 1.5") are the most popular for a reason -- they're professional and versatile. Oval badges are a classic choice for hospitality and luxury settings. Custom die-cut shapes can work for creative agencies, but be careful using them in conservative industries. When in doubt, go rectangular.
Position Your Logo Correctly
Upper-left or centered at the top. Keep it to about 25-30% of the badge area -- a logo that's too big makes the name hard to read, which defeats the purpose. Our online designer lets you resize and position it in real time so you can see exactly how it'll look before you order.
Magnetic vs. Pin Backing for Professional Settings
About 80% of our professional customers go with magnets, and there's a good reason for that. Here's how the two options compare so you can pick the right one for your team.
Magnetic Backing (Recommended)
- ✓ No holes in dress shirts, blazers, or scrubs
- ✓ Rare-earth neodymium magnets hold firm all day
- ✓ Attaches in seconds without fumbling
- ✓ Works through fabrics up to 1/4" thick
- ✓ Preferred by 80% of professional buyers
- ✓ Available on all badge styles
Note: If you or a team member has a pacemaker or implantable defibrillator, go with pin-back instead. The FDA recommends keeping strong magnets at least 6 inches from medical implants.

- ✓ Lowest cost option
- ✓ Secure attachment to any fabric thickness
- ✓ Safe for pacemaker wearers
- ✓ Traditional and universally familiar
- ○ Creates small holes in clothing over time
- ○ Slightly slower to attach and remove
Best for: Teams with thick uniforms, outdoor work environments, or anyone who needs a pacemaker-safe fastener.
