Personalized Name Tags: Make Every Badge Uniquely Yours

Custom text, logos, colors, shapes & more — designed by you, crafted by us

Personalized name tags with custom logos, colors, and text options

What Can You Personalize on a Name Tag?

We print thousands of personalized name tags every week, and honestly, no two orders look the same. You've got control over every detail — not just the name on the front, but the layout, colors, logo placement, and fastener. It's all made to your specs, right here in our shop.

Here's what you can customize on each badge:

  • Employee name and job title — each badge can have a different name
  • Department or location — add a second line of custom text
  • Company logo or custom graphic — upload any image file
  • QR codes and barcodes — link to digital profiles or contact cards
  • Background colors and gradients — match your brand palette exactly
  • Font style and size — choose from dozens of professional typefaces
  • Badge shape and dimensions — standard rectangles, ovals, or custom shapes
  • Fastener type — magnetic, pin, clip, or lanyard slot

The most common order we see? A set of 10–20 tags where every single one has a different name but the same logo and layout. And the most common call we get? "I just hired someone and need one more badge to match the 47 I ordered last year." That's exactly what we're set up for — single badges for new hires, 5,000-piece rollouts, all of it.

How to Personalize Your Name Tags: Step by Step

Our online design tool lets you build your personalized name tags visually — you'll see a live preview of exactly what you're getting before you place the order. No guessing. Here's how the whole thing works:

Step 1: Choose Your Base Style

Head to our badge designer and pick a starting template — or jump in with a blank canvas if you've got a specific look in mind. This is where you'll choose your size, shape, and material: full-color printed plastic, brushed metal, or engraved two-ply.

Step 2: Add Your Personal Details

Type in names, titles, departments — whatever you need. Upload your logo. Adjust fonts, colors, and positioning until it looks right to you. Most people go with first name in large text and title underneath in smaller text. Simple works.

Step 3: Order Multiple Names in One Batch

Got 50 badges with 50 different names? No problem. Our system lets you enter a unique name (and optional title) for each badge while keeping the same design across the whole set. That's how most of our customers order — one design, many names.

Step 4: Preview, Approve, and Ship

Check your design in the live preview. Once you're happy with it, our production team gets to work. Most orders ship within 7–10 business days, and if anything looks off or needs clarification, we'll reach out before we print. We'd rather ask a quick question than get it wrong.

Personalized name tags for businesses, events, and conferences

Personalized Name Tags for Every Occasion

You'd be surprised how many different reasons people order personalized name tags. We've seen just about everything come through our shop. Here are the big ones:

Small Business Branding

Custom tags with your logo and brand colors give your staff a polished, consistent look. And customers notice — it's one of those small details that builds trust on the spot. Retail shops, salons, restaurants, and professional offices reorder from us all the time for exactly that reason.

Events and Conferences

Printed badges with event branding, attendee names, and color-coded roles make your event look put-together. They're a huge step up from peel-and-stick labels. And here's something we didn't expect when we started — attendees actually keep them afterward as souvenirs.

New Hire Welcome Kits

Nothing says "you belong here" like a badge with their name on it, waiting on the desk on day one. A lot of HR teams include a custom name tag in the onboarding package alongside keycards and company swag. It's a small thing, but new hires remember it.

Gifts and Recognition

An engraved metal badge with someone's name on it makes a surprisingly thoughtful gift. We once had a bride order 150 personalized name tags for her wedding reception — each guest got a custom badge with their name and table number. Still one of our favorite orders. We also see these for volunteers, club members, church groups, and hobbyist organizations regularly.

Healthcare and Hospitality

Hospitals, clinics, hotels, resorts — any place where staff need to be identifiable at a glance. We can add credentials, department colors, or multilingual text to meet whatever the facility requires. It's more common than you'd think.

Bulk personalized name tags with unique names on each badge

Bulk Personalization: A Different Name on Every Badge

This is the question we get more than any other: "Can I order 100 badges with the same design but a different name on each one?" Yep. That's literally what our system was built to do.

You design your badge once — logo, colors, layout, fastener — then add individual names and titles for each tag. Enter them one at a time or submit a list. We print every badge individually, so each one's unique while the overall look stays consistent.

Pricing scales with quantity — more badges means a lower per-unit cost. No minimums. No maximums. We produce everything from a single badge to enterprise orders of 10,000+.

And when new people join your team six months from now? Just place a reorder with the same design. The new badges will match the existing set perfectly.

Professional personalized name tag design tips and examples

Design Tips for Readable, Professional Personalized Tags

After producing millions of personalized name tags, we've picked up a few things about what works and what doesn't. Here are the tips our production team shares most often:

Keep the Name Large and Legible

The name is the whole point, right? Use at least 18–24pt so it's readable from three to four feet away — that's normal conversation distance. And don't use script fonts below 10pt. They'll look blurry. Stick with clean sans-serif fonts like Arial or Helvetica for names.

Use High-Contrast Colors

Dark text on a light background. Or white text on a dark background. That's really all there is to it. Your brand colors work great for accents and borders, but don't put text over busy images or low-contrast combos. If people are squinting to read the name, the badge isn't doing its job.

Position Your Logo Strategically

Top corner or left edge — that's where logos work best. We see a lot of designs come through where the logo takes up half the badge, and the name ends up cramped into a corner. The logo should support the name, not compete with it for space.

Plan for the Longest Name

This one catches people off guard on bulk orders. Always design your layout around the longest name on your list. If "Christopher Richardson" fits comfortably, every other name will too. Otherwise you'll end up with a few badges where the text gets auto-shrunk, and the whole set looks inconsistent. Trust us on this one — we've seen it happen more times than we can count.

Full-color printed and engraved personalized name tag materials

Materials and Printing Methods for Personalized Name Tags

The material you pick affects how your tags look, how they feel in hand, and how long they'll last. So it's worth knowing your options:

Full-Color UV Printed Badges

This is what most people order, and for good reason. UV printing gives you vibrant, edge-to-edge, full-color graphics on durable plastic. Unlimited colors, photo-quality logos, gradients — whatever your design calls for. The print's scratch-resistant and won't fade, so they hold up to daily wear. If your design involves brand colors or images, this is the way to go.

Laser Engraved Badges

Engraved badges have that classic two-tone look. We laser-etch text and logos into a two-ply material, revealing a contrasting color underneath. Law firms and financial institutions tend to love these — understated, professional, and they feel substantial. Upscale hotels are big fans too.

Metal Name Tags

Brushed silver or gold metal name tags feel premium without being heavy. People are always surprised by how lightweight they are despite the metallic finish. Great for executive teams or luxury retail where you want that extra polish.

Magnetic Fasteners

Any badge can be paired with a magnetic backing. Our neodymium rare-earth magnets hold securely through fabric without poking holes in clothing. No pins, no damage — just attach and go.
